Ongole: The first state-level meeting of Navyandhra Women Writers Association was held in the town on Sunday and the Minister for Environment and Forest Sidda Raghava Rao was the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Raghava Rao lauded women writers for organising the state- level meeting in Ongole. He said that poetry and prose help people to behave properly in the society and help in reducing social tensions. He said that women writers were needed to be encouraged a lot in the society and promised cooperation from the state government.

Honorary president of the Women Writers Association T Aruna, president Kalavati Chinnalakshmi, general secretary P Annapurna, vice-president IR Sravanthi, district president Munnangi Rahelu, writers Sailaja, Radhika, Kolakaluri Swaruparani, Udayajanaki, Radhikaratna, Surya Kumari, Krupavaram and others were present on the occasion.
