Pithapuram: Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa on Monday said that the Manjunatha Commission on reservations for the Kapus would submit its report by December fixing the quota for the Kapus. “Hence, the state government has nothing to do with the ultimatum given by Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, he said and added that Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy was against inclusion of Kapus in BCs.

Participating in Intintiki Telugu Desam in Raparti in Pithapurammandal, Chinarajappa said the Manjunatha Commission gathered public opinion on quota for Kapus in all the 13 districts and the commission chairman went on record stating that the commission would submit its report to the government in December.

Moreover, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was firm on inclusion of Kapus in the BC list. Rajappa recalled how he and others agitated for quota for Kapus 30 years ago. Any number of deadlines set by the Mudragada to the government for quota for the Kapus would not help. “He is hoodwinking the Kapus in the name of padayatra and agitation.

Mudragada is creating an illusion among the Kapus that speeding up of the quota process for the Kapus is only because of him,” he said. When Naidu announced quota for the Kapus here in the last elections, Mudragada did not respond. Moreover, he contested the polls against TDP nominee and received a drubbing.

He exuded confidence that justice would bedone to the Kapus during the TDP regime. Local legislator NVSN Varma, ZPTCs BarlaAppa Rao and Madiki Prasad, Gollaprolu and others took part in the programme.
