Guntur: The illegal construction of a building in the busy Brodipeta area which stirred a controversy would be demolished, P Narayana, Municipal Administration Minister said in his response on Monday after reports appeared in the local media.

The Minister directed the Commissioner of Guntur Municipal Corporation that there should not be any violation of rules and encroachments. C Anuradha, Commissioner, GMC said that the additional floors of the controversial building would be demolished as per the rules and assured that they would not allow any construction without the prior approval of the officials concerned.

It may be recalled that a building was being constructed on the benami land of a senior police officer with additional floors in the busy Brodipeta area. The dust and din are causing much discomfort to the neighbours and they took up the issue with the owner of the building.

Instead of the owner of the construction the, the DSP in question started threatening the public every day. A woman employee of the Chief Minister’s Office also faced the ire of that officer.

Later, she took up the issue with the GMC and they immediately rushed to the spot and find out the facts. After appearing in the local media, the Municipal Administration Minister intervened and gave an assurance that the additional floors would be demolished soon.
