Fugitive cop, scribe still on run
The city police are hunting for the fugitive police officer Dasara Ravibabu, who had disappeared from the city, soon after the murder of rowdy- sheeter Gedela Raju.
Visakhapatnam: The city police are hunting for the fugitive police officer Dasara Ravibabu, who had disappeared from the city, soon after the murder of rowdy- sheeter Gedela Raju.
The police named Ravibabu as the prime accused in the murder and editor of Kshatriya Bheri Bhupathiraju Srinivasu Raju as the accused number two.
“We located his presence at Visalakshinagar three days ago through GPS and later we found his mobile phone switched off. We have sent special teams to suspected places to track him down and his journalist friend Bhupathi Raju,” said deputy commissioner of police Gajuwaka zone T Ravi Kumar Murthy.
Meanwhile, former MLA of Paykaropeta Kakara Nookaraju told a section of the media that his daughter Padmalatha was poisoned to death by Gedela Raju at the behest of DSP Ravibabu.
All the while he has maintaining that Padmalatha died of heart attack but when the police named Ravibabu as the prime accused in the case and the motive for killing Padmalatha, Nookaraju changed his stance.
He said his daughter was staying in Gedela Raju’s house and in August last year he took her to a hotel and mixed poison in the food. She escaped then but a month later Raju had used the same ploy and she died.
