Tirupati: The state is in the grip of viral fevers as several people are suffering from diseases, criticised Congress leader and former MP Chinta Mohan. He flayed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for boasting Andhra Pradesh as healthy state. But, the reality is the contrary, he added.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Mohan came down heavily on the Telugu Desam government. He charged that the government is involved in rampant corruption. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu’s son, who is APMSIDC MD and Minister Nara Lokesh were sharing 10 per cent commission each in the purchase of medicines, he alleged.

There was no system to detect spread of swine flu in the state and thousands of patients were suffering from this epidemic. What the government is doing, he asked. During UPA government, Rs 120 crore cancer hospital was allotted to Tirupati. But it has been shifted to Guntur and state government has made an agreement with Tata Trust to build cancer hospital there. This is nothing but for commissions sake.

The Chief Minister is only concerned with Polavaram and Amaravati projects as he is getting huge kickbacks from them. He questioned the government what is the need of roping Baahubali director in designing the structures for the state capital. Chandrababu is bluffing the people with graphics of the state capital and no progress was there in reality. During the Congress tenure, he stated that seven projects were allocated to Tirupati. All these projects were kept in cold storage by the TD government.

The Chief Minister should explain reasons by month end why his government as kept Congress allocated projects in cold storage. If not, the Congress leader said that he will tour every district to explain the CM’s failures to the public. Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy was also not highlighting the corruption of the government in a proper way. The future belongs to the Congress only, he maintained.
