Vishnu Harathi to be performed on November 1
HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao announced that the state government will perform \'Vishnu Harathi\' every year officially which is a traditional practice to respect ocean.
Visakhapatnam: HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao announced that the state government will perform 'Vishnu Harathi' every year officially which is a traditional practice to respect ocean.
Addressing the media at Circuit Guest House here on Tuesday, he said ‘Vishnu Harathi’ will be performed under the guidance of Kondaveeti Jyothirmayi on Novemeber 1.
Emphasising that giving respect to rivers, oceans and nature has been part of our culture, he said. The government has taken a decision to perform ‘Vishnu Harathi’ in Visakhapatnam for the first time.
“Form next year onwards, ‘Vishnu Harathi’ will be performed in all the coastal belt areas in the state. Moreover, as part of ‘Vishnu Harathi’ celebration, Ganga Putrulu and weavers will be felicitated,” he added.
