In order to improve the educational standards according to the trends, the State government has decided to revamp the education system and to modify syllabus from school level. Inculcating the behavioural sciences and shaping up the young minds with more general awareness, the State government has been exercising to introduce new syllabus.

Inculcating the behavioural sciences and shaping up the young minds with more general awareness, the State government has been exercising to introduce new syllabus. The revamped education system and syllabus will be adopted from the next academic year.

During in the past three academic years, over 21,000 Class 10th students achieved 10/10 points in the State in the final examinations, of them 2,100 students had studied in the government schools. Though the State government has been spending over Rs 21,000 crore for education sector, expected results could not be achieved.

In order to improve the education system, the State government had collected opinions from various quarters including experts of various fields and industrialists. Finding several faults in the present education system, majority of the experts expressed their opinion to change the entire system and adopt new strategies in the government schools.

The students of the government colleges and schools are failing to get employment opportunities due to the lack of the communication skills and also other skills. The government is disappointed about the performance of government school children and about their communication skills. Meanwhile, at the college level, the faculty is finding fault with the standards of the knowledge which the students had acquired at the school level.

“Poor attendance to the classes, lack of interaction with the teachers, absence of group discussions, poor general knowledge, zero marks in moral sciences and ethical values are on the top 10 reasons. With the series of suicides in the colleges across the State, poor standards in the government schools and colleges, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is very unhappy.

In fact, the Chief Minister directed the HRD ministry to introduce various reforms in the education system. The draft plan is almost on the final stage. After a meeting with the Chief Minister and HRD Minister, AP Education Policy-2018 will be announced,” a senior official of HRD ministry told The Hans India.
