Employees to intensify stir against Contributory Pension Scheme
Andhra Pradesh Contributory Pension Scheme Employees Association (APCPSEA) has decided to hold a three-day hunger strike in Amaravati during the Assembly session which will commence from November 8 demanding cancellation of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) in the State. The association also decided to meet MLAs of all parties and Ministers and request them to raise the issue in Assembly.
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Contributory Pension Scheme Employees Association (APCPSEA) has decided to hold a three-day hunger strike in Amaravati during the Assembly session which will commence from November 8 demanding cancellation of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) in the State. The association also decided to meet MLAs of all parties and Ministers and request them to raise the issue in Assembly.
In a release on Sunday, the APCPSEA said the Union government made it clear that the CPS was State issue and the same was revealed in response for an RTI query. But, an employees’ association was misleading employees by propagating that the subject was in the Union government list.
The APCPSEA, with the support of other employees’ unions, has decided to fight against the State government with the demand for cancellation of the CPS and restore service pension as per 1980 Pension Rules.
APJAC chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said employees were successful in achieving gratuity and family pension. He said several employees unions such as PRTA, JACTO, APRSA, TNUS, Award Teachers Association, YSRTF, Aided Teachers Association and other associations joined hands and leaders of the Unions participated in meeting held in Guntur.
It also took decision that the employees would support political party in elections which would cancel the CPS system. The employees will explain about the CPS system to all political parties’ leaders at district level and seek their support for the future protests.
