Energy officials told to focus on reduction of losses
Energy minister asked the officials to intensify efforts to reduce transmission and distribution losses to 8 per cent from the current 9.8 per cent. “Loss reduction in every aspect is necessary for maintaining quality power supply,” he said in a teleconference with energy department officials here on Sunday.

He said the state government was contemplating to implement three pronged strategy for reducing losses by increasing quality and reliability in power supply as well as effective and speedy redress al mechanism in energy sector.
World-class services to the consumers by way of continuous improvement of transmission and distribution infrastructure, adoption of latest IT tools, development of user-friendly mobile apps to facilitate better services to consumer will be part of the efforts in this regard, Venkata Rao said.
