Visakhapatnam: Chairperson and Principal District Judge PV Jyotirmai conducted orientation and training programme for the proposed para legal volunteers here on Saturday in the district court hall.

Para legal training programme for law students and public will be conducted from Monday to Friday. Senior advocate and president of Forum of Legal Professionals Kuppili Muralidhar will speak on Constitution of India, fundamental rights and duties, consumer rights , rights of SC and STs, while Prof P Bobby Vardhan of Journalism Department of Andhra University, will speak on basic communication skills.

Speaking on the occasion, district judge PV Jyotirmai said the para legal volunteers should have sense of providing free legal service to the poor and needy. “A spark in the stillness of the dark provides hopes to the beleaguered ", she said elucidating the timely help the para legal volunteers could provide to the needy. She also referred to the recent spate of suicides by the students and said a helping word to such students would go give a morale boost.

Secretary of District Legal Services Authority S Damodar Rao, members Abdul Raqueeb, B Tulasi Das and students participated in the programme.
