Kadapa: District Superintendent of Police (SP) Attada Babujee said that the role of police is crucial in protecting the lives of people in the society.
Addressing the gathering after paying rich tributes to the police martyrs here on Saturday, the SP said police personnel have sacrificed their lives while rescuing the victims from anti-social elements. He recalled that about 383 cops were killed during 2016-17.
He urged the police officials to be friendly with the victims, who are coming to police stations for lodging complaints. District Collector T Baburao Naidu said that without police, society will not feel safe. He recalled that the Police Commemoration Day is being observed in the memory of soldiers sacrificed their life on October 21, 1959 at Ladak while fighting with Chinese army. Several police officials were present.
