Anantapur: A host of leaders across the political spectrum paid rich tributes to freedom fighter late V K Adinarayana Reddy on the occasion of his birth centenary celebrations here on Sunday.

Addressing the participants, CPM politburo member B V Raghavulu and CPI national executive member Narayana recalled the valuable services rendered by freedom fighter Adinarayana to the people of the district.

His relentless struggle to mitigate the sufferings of drought-affected people and his demand for diversion of Krishna river water to parched Rayalaseema and his campaign against factional feuds in the Rayalaseema region were recalled by all the speakers.

Minister for Information and Public Relations and Rural Housing Kalava Srinivasulu and PCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy were all praise for the contribution of the departed leader.

They stated that V K Adinarayana will be remembered for ages to come for being the voice of Rayalaseema drought conditions and for working for a faction-free society.

YSRCP leader and former MP Anantha Venkatarama Reddy, local MLA Prabhakar Choudhury, CPI(ML) leader Peddanna, CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna, CPM leader Obulakonda Reddy, district CPI leaders Jaffer and Narayana Swamy and district secretary Jagadeesh were among those who paid rich tributes to the freedom fighter.
