40 girls taken ill at BC hostel

Around 40 girl students fell sick after consuming breakfast at Jaggampeta BC Girls Welfare Hostel here on Monday. According to sources, the girls consumed tamarind rice as breakfast and went to classes as usual. After some time, some of them complained of vomiting and diarrhoea.
Kakinada: Around 40 girl students fell sick after consuming breakfast at Jaggampeta BC Girls Welfare Hostel here on Monday. According to sources, the girls consumed tamarind rice as breakfast and went to classes as usual. After some time, some of them complained of vomiting and diarrhoea.
Hostel authorities rushed all the affected girl to Government General Hospital Jaggampeta. Condition of some of the girls is said to be serious. After receiving the information of food poisoning, Jaggampeta tahsildar rushed to the hospital and is monitoring the situation. Girls from high school and college were residing at the hostel. Doctors said that food poisoning was the reason for their illness. The total strength of this girls hostel is 160.
