Five passengers sustained grave injuries in a road mishap on Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The incident occurred at Lingotam in Kattangur mandal in Nalgonda district when a YatraGenie bus heading for Hyderabad from Vizag rammed into an acid tanker parked off the national highway.
39 passengers were on board the bus when the mishap took place. Due to the impact, the tanker developed cracks an hydrochloric acid leaked from it causing the entire area engulfed in thick smoke which resulted in a traffic jam for few hours.
The injured were shifted to a private hospital and a case was registered against the driver.
