The Kapilatheertham temple drew huge crowds. They took a bath at the water falls in the temple and offered prayers. Devotees also lit the wholly lamps in diyas. Temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the devotees.

As it was also the day of ‘nagula chavati people gathered in large numbers at anthills to worship the snake God. They poured cow’s milk in the snake pits and put traditional prasadams. Most of the women were fasting and wore traditional dresses.
