No permission for bauxite mining: Sujay
Minister for Mines Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao said the government will not allow mining of bauxite in the Agency areas of the district.
Visakhapatnam: Minister for Mines Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao said the government will not allow mining of bauxite in the Agency areas of the district. Talking to reporters after addressing a meeting of the department officials on skill development and organisational development here on Monday, the Minister said the government has been earning good revenue from the sand reaches and very soon all the 7,000 reaches would be surveyed through GPS and the borders would be well marked.
“Hereafter the department will not give individual NOCs to the people and allot NOCs to the reaches which will ensure more transparency,’’ he said. He said with the new process, the NOCs will be given faster and free from irregularities. The department has earned Rs 700 crore through the sand reaches during the current financial year.
Earlier, addressing the meeting of mines department, the Minister said skill development programme was being launched to upgrade the skills of the employees and at the same time reduce the stress he said employees all over the State would be trained.
