Special pujas were performed to Lord Shiva on the occasion of the auspicious day of first Karthika Somavaram at the temple on Indrakiladri in city on Monday. The temple authorities performed Eka Dasa Rudrabhishekam, Laksha Bilwarchana on this occasion to Lord Shiva.Â

A large number of devotees took holy dip in the river Krishna and went to Mallikarjuna Swamy temple and performed Abhishekams seeking blessings of the God to fulfill their wishes. The Devastanam authorities made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the devotees. Special queues were formed for the convenience of the devotees. Mallikarjuna Swamy temple was decorated on the occasion.
Special pujas were performed to Lord Shiva at Sri Ramakoti in Gandhi Nagar,S N Puram, Governorpet. The Vedic pundits performed Rudrabhishekams with namakam chamakam to Lord Shiva on the occasion since early morning. They performed Bilwarchana.
