Nellore: Hospitals in Nellore district are flooding with patents suffering from various fevers and the increasing number of deaths is also creating panicky in the district, said Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy addressing at ZP General Body meet held here on Tuesday. He asked the officials to take stringent measures to support the victims on war foot basis.
He said majority of people were suffering from typhoid, malaria, and dengue fevers across the district and the administration has to respond instantaneously for bailing out the poor from troubles who have been spending huge bucks in private medical hospitals. He asked the medical and health officials to coordinate with local gram panchayat staff for taking measures and also create awareness among people on preventing further spread of fevers by maintaining hygienic conditions.
The minister regrets that majority people were visiting many hospitals for treatment thus wasting time and hence instances of deaths were being reported. He admitted that Primary Health Centres are not having platelet confirmation or conversion mechanism and hence the situation has been turning out to be complex. He assured that they would allocate necessary funds to the PHCs for setting up necessary equipment for confirming platelet count. He said they would take, if necessary, support from the local philanthropists and legislators.
Further, Minister said majority farmers failed to get loan waiver because of negligent behaviour of the bank staff. He said they had resolved such issues during the special grievance day organised at the Collectorate that were pending for last two years. He asked the banks to sanction loans timely for supporting them. ZP Chairman B Raghavendra Reddy, Joint Collector A.Md.Imtiaz, CEO Ch. Subrahmanyam, people’ representatives and other officials were present. Later, minister visited Manubolu and received representations from the public.
