11.8k cr released under farm loan waiver: Somireddy
Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the government so far released Rs 11,806 crore under farm loan waiver. Participating in 3rd phase of loan waiver programme organised here on Wednesday, he said Rs 384 crore was spent for the development of horticulture crops in the State.

The Minister pointed out that Rs 7,565 crore was released towards loan waiver in the first phase and Rs 3,302 crore in the 2nd phase. He said that till date 5.4 lakh grievances were settled and Rs 585 crore has been credited in the beneficiaries’ accounts against total 9 lakh grievances received by the government.
He said that 5.38 lakh farmers in Kadapa district will receive Rs 1285 crore towards loan waiver in five phases. The Minister pointed out that Runa Mafi Vinathula Parikshara Vedikas are being set up in every district to address the grievances of farmers. The Minister said one senior official of the cadre of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) is being deployed to address the grievances.
He said in Kadapa district 4,280 grievances have been recorded in Chewel, Rajampet, Penagaluru, Pulivendula and Balapanuru mandals. The Minister said that a Mega Seed Park (MSP) at a cost of Rs 680 crore is being set up in collaboration with Milinda Gates Foundation to provide quality seeds to farmers.
A MoU in this regard will be signed in Visakhapatnam soon. Marketing Minister C Adi Narayana Reddy, Agriculture Secretary Jawahar, Collector T Babu Rao Naidu, Joint Collector Teja and others were present.
