Construct Gundrevula reservoir: Rayalaseema Janatha Party
Rayalaseema Janatha Party president Kothur Sathya Narayana Gupta demanded the government to take up Gundrevula Reservoir construction issue in the ensuing Assembly sessions that are due to take place shortly.

Speaking to The Hans India on Wednesday, Gupta said “It is very unfortunate that we are unable to procure even the rain waters with which the farmers of Rayalaseema are facing dire consequences.
To save the irrigation sector from the clutches of drought in Rayalaseema, construction of reservoirs are must. Rayalaseema is being ignored in development on all fronts and to oppose, there is dire need to raise voice by the Seema politicians against the step-motherly treatment by the government.”
If the Gundrevula Reservoir is constructed, then we could able to store 20 tmc ft water with which the water problems could be meted out both drinking and irrigation, he said and added even there is also a need to construct another project Vedavathy Reservoir on the western part of the district. He came down heavily on politicians who are chanting the mantra of transforming the district to industrial hub instead and suggested striving to make it to irrigation hub.
He warned if the government did not come forward for the construction of Gundrevula Reservoir then it has to face dire consequences from people of Rayalaseema region.
