Cordon and search operation at Vambay
The city police on Wednesday conducted cordon and search operation at Vambay Colony under Nunna police station limits and detained nine persons with criminal history, 14 suspects and seized 10 bikes, which have no valid documents.
Vijayawada: The city police on Wednesday conducted cordon and search operation at Vambay Colony under Nunna police station limits and detained nine persons with criminal history, 14 suspects and seized 10 bikes, which have no valid documents. On the instructions of Commissioner of Police D Gowtam Sawang, the city police formed 44 teams conducted cordon search at A block of Vambay Colony.
Recently, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu visited Vambay Colony as part of surprise visit and interacted with the local residents. The local women complained to the Chief Minister that they had been facing harassment from local rowdies and anti- social elements. Chandrababu Naidu had ordered the city police to take stringent action against the rowdies and anti-social elements in the city.
On Wednesday, DCP Kranti Tata Rana, four ACPs, five circle inspectors, 16 sub-inspectors and 250 constables, ASIs and others participated in the cordon search and collected details of local residents. The police also seized 10 bikes which have no valid documents.
