Hepaptitis-B free check up camp held
Gastroenterologist Dr PS Chakravarti advised students and staff of Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering to safeguard liver against dangerous diseases like Hepatitis-B and get vaccinated to keep hepatitis and a host of other liver diseases at bay.
Mylavaram: Gastroenterologist Dr PS Chakravarti advised students and staff of Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering to safeguard liver against dangerous diseases like Hepatitis-B and get vaccinated to keep hepatitis and a host of other liver diseases at bay.
At an awareness programme on Hepatitis-B held here on Wednesday jointly by the college NSS unit, Ayush Hospitals and Cipla Pharmaceuticals, he cautioned them against the disease which is spreading like a silent killer.
College principal Dr K Appa Rao said that the college is making available Hepatitis-B vaccine dose at a paltry sum of Rs 70 each. G Srinivasa Reddy of the college said that programmes like this would dispel myths about the disease.
In all, 270 students and staff members were screened for liver diseases free of cost. Vice-principal Dr K Srinivasa Reddy, infrastructure director K Timma Reddy, College NSS programme officer P Ashok Reddy, deans and several heads of department of the college took part in the programme.
