Salur (Vizianagaram): Teachers in agency areas are facing problems to register their attendance in tabs which are being provided by the government. The government has been taking measures to minimise the irregularities and eradicate proxy teachers in some areas.

The government had supplied around 650 biometric machines to the schools in first phase. As a part of it, the primary school at Mamidipalli village in Salur mandal was given biometric machine but due to unavailability of internet, the machines are not being operated well.

The teachers are required to reach higher places to catch the signals to register their attendance. Teachers K Suseela, K Lavanya and Ramesh, along with head master Surya Kumari, are required to climb trees to catch the signal to register their attendance.

This became funny and the schoolchildren are laughing at their teachers. Speaking to The Hans India, DEO Aruna Kumari said that the teachers need not worry about biometric attendance as they can register their attendance whenever they get signals and even the head masters of the schools are authorised to register the teachers attendance manually.
