Guntur: Acharya Nagarjuna University Law College alumni meet will be held here on Friday, said Narra Srinivas Rao, president of the Law Alumni Association (LAA).

He was addressing a media conference here on Thursday. “The executive council of ANU accorded permission to the LAA to construct National Legal Research Centre in the University campus and allocated half- acre (50 cents) of land to LAA for the same purpose” he added.

“The five-storied proposed building will cost an amount of Rs. 5 to 6 crore which will consists law library, digital library, conference halls and guest rooms for the research scholars and visiting guests” Prof Srinivas Rao explained.

“ So far, nearly 2,000 students graduated from the University Law College and 300 of them will participate in the alumni meet,” said Prof. L Jayashri, honorary president and Professor of Law, and the proposed legal research centre would be a focal point for research related activities she added.

The alumni meet will discuss the amenities to be provided in the proposed building and on mobilisation of funds for the construction she said. Prof.A Rajendra Prasad, Vice-chancellor will inaugurate the alumni meet at 10 AM. Chandu Srinivas Rao, Secretary, LAA, Dr.G Srinivasa Rao, L Padmaja, Koppela Mohan the executive council members of the LAA also participated in the media conference.
