Ganta inks MoU with Wright State University

Vijayawada: Minister for Education Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Thursday said that Wright State University in Ohio in the U S A would give fee concession to the students from A P in the undergraduate, PG and Ph D courses. He entered into an agreement with the representatives of the university in this regard.

Explaining details of fee concessions at a meeting held in the University, the minister said, for under graduation courses fee is 8,864 dollars, but the A.P students would have to pay 5,400 dollars; for PG courses students would have to pay fee of 11,889 dollars, the A.P student would have to pay 8,052 dollars and fee concession would be given for all the courses and the concessions would come into force from January 1, 2018.

He said that he had already signed an agreement with the Wright State University Ohio president Cheryl Shedar, its Vice- President Walter J Branson and held discussions with university representatives.

The minister termed it as a historical agreement. For the first time, a university in the U.S.A. entered an agreement with the government of A.P and added that the University team will visit AP in December and create awareness among students.

He further said that A.P government is taking better steps to improve quality in the education. He met the deans of the various universities in Ohio State and expressed confidence that like Wright State University, other universities in Ohio State will also give concessions to the students of A.P. He was accompanied by Principal Secretary (education) Adithyanath Das and Adviser to the AP Council of Higher Education, Edara Venkat.
