Vizianagaram: Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju stated that road widening would contain road mishaps. He laid the foundation stone for road widening works between Mayuri Junction and Balaji Junction here on Friday.
The 1,400 m road would be extended into six lanes at a cost of Rs 7 crore. The road is one of the busiest roads in the town which is in the middle of the town. Later, the Union Minister said that wide roads would ease traffic and facilitate the public to have a hassle-free journey. The road would be completed in one year.
“We are spending Rs 470 crore to lay a 17-km bypass road here. The road would ease the traffic in the town,” he said. Collector Vivek Yadav said that they will concentrate on development of junctions in the town.
