Guntur: Spiritual organisation Sri Krishna Theosophical Lodge will host an exhibition-cum-sale of divine and spiritual books from October 27 to 30, according to secretary of the lodge M Kodandarama Rao.

Speaking to The Hans India about the origin and growth of the theosophical movement and the construction of the heritage structure, he reminded that Sri Krishna Theosophical Lodge was constructed in 19th century with brick and mortar; architectural style is simple but regal.

Narrating about the theosophical movement in Guntur, he said that Vinjamuri Bhavanacharyulu, a local philanthropist, had donated 550 sft of land in 1882 and house warming function was performed in 1912 under the supervision of Annie Besant. The construction, including the exterior was in excellent condition even after hundred years, like the rest of the several buildings of that period in and around the city.

From several years, Sri Krishna Theosophical Lodge was running a reading room and on weekends it hosts discussions, debates and lectures on various topics regularly, explained S Saileela Sanjeeva Rao, treasurer of the Lodge.

Furthermore, Sri Krishna Theosophical Lodge is conducting a 3-day seminar in November and the theme of the seminar is ‘Progress of humanity lies in the growth of the soul'.
