Anantapur: Lok Satta president Jaya Prakash Narayana on Friday said that the government need to revamp both educational and medicare system in the state.

He visited parts of the district including Kadiri, Rayadurgam and Anantapur town and interacted with medical personnel including doctors and patients and also with private college principals to discuss the problem of increasing student suicides.

DrJaya Prakash Narayana was here as part of his 'Swaraj Yatra' to study medical amenities in the state particularly in government hospitals. He regretted that amenities, man power and quality of treatment is poor due to budget constraints and lack of adequate man power in government hospitals.

At a separate meeting along with SP GVG Ashok Kumar and college principals, he expressed anguish at the increasing suicides in colleges.
He invited suggestions to usher in radical reforms in the system and rid the mental pressure on the students.

He also visited government hospital in Kadiri and participated in a book release function on the history of Rayadurgam in the town along with state minister for Rural Housing and Information Kalava Sreenivas.

When asked on YSRCP president YSJaganmohan Reddy's decision to boycott the Assembly session to pressurise the Speaker to initiate action on defectors, he observed that political values were declining day-by-day and the order of the day was how to capture power and stick to it.
