Arya Vysya and Dalit associations were denied permission to hold meetings with advance notices being served to 296 persons from both the groups and key leaders taken into custody.
Professor Kancha Ilaiah, meanwhile said that he won’t be attending the felicitation meeting in Vijayawada which was planned on Saturday.
Stating that he is a responsible citizen and abides by the law, Kancha Ilaiah said that he has decided not to attend the felicitation ceremony as the police officials have informed him through a notice that the meeting might lead to law and order situation in Vijayawada.
Questioning the reason behind Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu denying permission for the felicitation programme, he clarified that he is fighting for reservation in private sector.
