The Central medical team consisting of Dr Pranav Varma, Dr Piyush Jain, Dr Gavendra Singh, AP State Entomologist Dr Deepak, DM&HO Dr ArunaSulochana, DCHS Dr Saralamma and other officials visited Bathalavallam village in Varadaiahpalemmandal on Friday.  

Tirupati: The Central medical team consisting of Dr Pranav Varma, Dr Piyush Jain, Dr Gavendra Singh, AP State Entomologist Dr Deepak, DM&HO Dr ArunaSulochana, DCHS Dr Saralamma and other officials visited Bathalavallam village in Varadaiahpalemmandal on Friday.

Collector PS Pradyumna also joined the team along with Joint Collector II V Chandramouli and Sub Collector Nishanth Kumar. They went around the village to find out the reasons for mysterious fevers and several deaths for over a month in the village and surrounding places like Karipakam and Rachakandriga.

The Collector sent a report to the State government that even though medical camps were conducted, and treatment was extended to villagers, fevers becoming more prevalent in the village. Accordingly, the Central team visited the village. Collector apprised the team about the steps taken by the district administration.

He said the villages were very clean and maintaining good sanitation. Already 10 water wells were closed as the water was contaminated. Still number of cases with fevers were increasing. District Medical and Health department was organising medical camp in the village and providing good treatment.
