Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will flag off Singapore tour of first batch of Amaravati farmers at Secretariat on Monday. AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) will arrange a bus for farmers to take them to International Airport at Shamshabad and they fly to Singapore from there.

As part of agreement between AP government and Singapore government, the CRDA has selected 125 farmers to visit Singapore. The trip is aimed at making farmers to learn the best practices in business and entrepreneurship. The farmers will visit Singapore in three batches. The first batch is going to visit several places for four days in the country.

CRDA Commissioner Ch Sreedhar suggested the farmers that they can clarify their doubts on any business with the Singapore officials during their visit. He also said the farmers have to study various issues relating to entrepreneurship there and prepare an action plan on business based on their experience in that country.

According to CRDA, it is not free trip. The farmers have to bear the to-and-fro flight expenses, visa and insurance charges that amount to around Rs 25,000. The CRDA will pay around Rs 30,000 per head for the expenditure for accommodation, food and tour in Singapore.

Nearly 25,000 farmers parted around 35,000 acres of their land for construction of capital city, Amaravati under land pooling scheme. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said it would take another 45 days to complete the process of finalisation of designs for iconic buildings-Assembly, Secretariat and High court.
