Kurnool: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths based on the allegations of amassing huge illegal assets by DSP Y Harinath Reddy conducted simultaneous raids on residences of officer and his relatives in Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and Bengaluru on Saturday.

Around nine teams have been formed to conduct the raids.

Speaking to The Hans India, ACB DSP T Jaya Ram Raju said the preliminary estimates over the cost of properties owned by the tainted officer put at Rs 20 crore in the open market. He said as per the book value, the properties would be around Rs 4 to 5 crore.

The tainted officer has own two houses at Kurnool worth crores of rupees and 10 acres of land at Thuggali mandal under Pathikonda constituency.

“We have seized several land documents and a cash of Rs 7 lakh besides a car from his possession,” he added.

The officials are yet to ascertain the value of seized properties, he said.

Nine teams from Kadapa, Anantapur, Nellore and Vijayawada involved in conducting raids.

Y Harinath Reddy is now placed at Vijayawada Central Investigation Department (CID) in the same capacity as DSP.

Prior to his posting to CID department he has discharged duties at Nandyal. During this period it is known that he has amassed huge illegal assets at various places in the state as well as in Bengaluru.
