Three cities to get tree pruners soon
Good news to the tree lovers who love greenery and plants. The Andhra Pradesh Urban Greening and Beautification Corporation Limited will distribute tree and plant pruners to Vizag, Vijayawada and Tirupati for trimming of tree branches and plants.

As part of the Swachch Andhra Mission, the state government is according priority for greenery and beautification of the government offices, educational institutions, public and private places.
In this regard, it formed Andhra Pradesh Urban Greening and Beautification Corporation Limited (APUGBCL) with head office in Vijayawada. The APUGBCL had procured three tree pruners and will be distributed to three municipal corporations of Vijayawada, Vizag and Tirupati.
Trained staff can use the tree pruner platform for cutting tree branches. Special training will be imparted to the staff for proper utilisation of machine and trimming the trees.
Cutting tree branches is very common in urban and rural areas. This is very common where electrical live wires pass in the streets. People living near the transformers and electrical wires may face risk of electric shock due to passing of live wires.
Now, tree trimmer machines can be used to check such disasters. In Vijayawada, branches of hundreds of trees are cut indiscriminately by SPDCL staff to prevent accidents. Now, with the help of tree pruning machine, branches can be cut systematically. It will help to save the trees, said a senior officer executing the project in APUGBCL.
The corporation is rendering technical assistance and guidance to increase greenery in 110 municipalities and other municipal corporations in the city. The state government had appointed technical experts in the corporation on deputation till the mission of Haritandhra Pradesh is completed.
Tree pruners can be operated up to the height of 20-25 feet to cut or trim the tree branches. The APUGBCL has decided to distribute tree pruners to all the municipalities and corporations in the state in a phased manner.
