The Minister visited Municipal Residential Junior College here on Monday. He interacted with the students and enquired about facilities being provided to the students and also about teaching methods at the institution.

Narayana also asked the students about the syllabus of various subjects. He asked the faculty to conduct weekly tests for testing skills of the students and also to keep a vigil on their progress. He said that lecturers should conduct special classes for the students who are lagging behind in some subjects.

Later speaking to the media persons, Narayana said that students in the Municipal Residential Junior College should strive hard to make the college a role model for other States. He also asked the students to develop a sportive spirit.

The Chief Minister also enquired about the facilities to be provided for the colleges and schools, the Minister said. Narayana asked the students to do exercises daily to improve their memory power.

Further, the Minister held a review meeting with officials at his camp office. He said that they would complete underground drainage and water works in the city by July 2018. He also said that they had planned to complete the works of drains and roads which were taken up at a cost of Rs 43 crore before December 31.

The Minister explained that the government would resolve the issues raised by the contractors. He also appealed to the citizens here to extend their cooperation while the underground drainage and water works are in progress. He also explained that the works of UGD and water works would be delayed if heavy rains lash in November or December.

The Minister asked the contractors to fill the pits with gravel wherever necessary. Nellore Municipal Commissioner S Dilli Rao, DEO Samuel, GGH development committee chairman Ch Narasimha Rao, corporators Madhusudan, N Mallikarjuna Yadav, former legislator M Sridhar Krishna Reddy and others were present.
