Visakhapatnam: Players of Railway Sports Promotion Board showed their domination and won five gold medals in second Elite National Boxing Championship. The host of the event RSPB players won five gold and one bronze medal in the event and won the championship.

The Services team justified as runners-up with 4 Gold and One Silver medal. Haryana satisfied with Third position with One Gold, One Silver, Two Bronze medals. There was a tough competition in finals between the boxers and finally the best performer in the bout emerged as the winner.

All the stalwarts of the event stood winners except Shiva Thapa. Most promising boxer of the tournament was given to Manish Kaushik of Services, while Best Challenger of the Championship was NT Lalbiakkima of Mizoram and Best Boxer of the Championship was given to Manoj Kumar of Railways.

The week-long National Boxing Championship at Swarnabharati Indoor Stadium organised by Railway Sports Promotion Board concluded here on Monday. General Manager of East Coast Railway Umesh Singh, Secretary Railway Board RK Varma, Secretary General BFI Jay Kowli, DRM, Waltair Mukul Saran, Secretary RSPB Rekha Yadav, Associate Secretary AP Boxing Federation Ravi Raju; Associate President AP Boxing Federation I Chitti Babu, Sports Officer, ECoRSA Sakkeer Hussain were present.
