Rajamahendravaram: As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week-2017, ONGC Rajahmundry Asset organised a talk on ‘Preventive Vigilance’ by Balwinder Singh, former Special Director of CBI, at the corporation’s office here on Tuesday. He stressed that systems alone cannot curb corruption completely but they can largely minimise it in companies. Singh advised the managements to leverage technologies to contain opportunities for corruption in organisations.

Singh emphasised that companies should not take a lenient view for delays in payments either in the government or private sector because delays lead to inflating of costs on various avoidable elements of conduct of business. He cited examples of various banks, telecommunication companies which faltered while discharging professional duty.

The ONGC unit observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on Tuesday by undertaking a walk from the company's city dispensary to the main office on the national highway. Around 300 employees sporting the message of unity on the T shirts participated in the walkathon flagged off by officiating Asset Manager P K Pandey, Group General Manager-Head Drilling Services.

Pandey said the walk was organised to celebrate the efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who integrated the 550 princely States into India. ‘It also reaffirms our strength to withstand all kinds of threats to Mother India’.
