The Joint Collector A Md Imtiaz Ahmed flagged off the rally. Addressing a meeting, the MLC lauded the services of Patel to the nation. Patel had offered his services to the country as Deputy Prime Minister and also as Home Minister, he said. Ravichandra asked the youngsters to take Patel as their role model for learning selfless service and discipline. He also recalled services of the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 33rd death anniversary and explained that she had implemented several welfare schemes for the poor.
Further, the Joint Collector said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had protected the nation’s unity. “Everyone should follow the great leader to keep the nation united,” he said. Ahmed informed that Indira Gandhi had started ‘Garibi Hatao’ programme for the welfare of the poor. Imtiaz Ahmed appealed to the people to come forward to fulfil the ambitions of the legendary leaders and strive for nation’s development.
Ravichandra, Imtiaz Ahmed along with other leaders garlanded the portraits of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Indira Gandhi. NUDA Chairman K S Reddy, Joint Collector-2 Venkata Subba Reddy, DRO Venkata Subbaiah, Nellore Municipal Commissioner S Dilli Rao, RDO D Haritha and others were present.
