Srisailam Project: The Srisailam Devasthanam is making special arrangements to meet the heavy rush of devotees in connection with the Karthika Pournami on November 3 and 4, Executive Officer Bharat Gupta said on Tuesday.
The arrangements were reviewed at a meeting attended by the temple chief archaka, Veda pundits and heads of all units, supervisors and staff. Gupta told in the meeting that the staff of all wings should pay special attention to the convenience of the devotees, particularly their stay, queue complex, Annadanam, hygiene and arrangements at Patala Ganga, holding of Jwala Thorana, special Deeparchana at Pushkarini, Nadi Harathi and Pushkarini Harathi.
The meeting decided to change the temple timings on November 4 by opening its doors at 2.30 am and hold Suprabata Seva, Pratakala Pooja and allow entry to devotees from 3.30 am onwards. It resolved to stop Garbhalaya Abhishekam (Rs 5,000) as also all Abhishekams at 8.30 am during the Pournami days. The EO stated that those who have secured online tickets would be given another opportunity on the same day.
The other decisions taken by the meeting include offering free food, water and milk to those waiting in queues and give limited tickets for break darshan during the Pournami days. There won’t be Arjitha Kunkumarchana on November 3.
Limited Kalyanam tickets would be given on Friday and Saturday in view of a large number of Sashwata Kalyanalu. On Friday, Pushakarini Harati and Vishesha Deeparchana with 50,000 lamps would be conducted at 7.15 pm. For the first time in the history of the Devasthanam a laser show ’Sivathandavam’ would be conducted near Pushakarini on November 3 evening.
