Chirala: The dream of thousands of people plying from the west side of railway track into the main town of Chirala will come true soon. The state government and railway department came forward to construct road-over-bridge at the western side of railway crossing in the town at a cost of Rs 50 crore.

Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishnamohan met the local public at the railway crossing and explained the affected people about the bridge and possible loss to them at the time of land acquisition. He offered support from the government and personal level and said that houses would be built for the poor who may lose the land for the RoB.

Krishnamohan said, “We are trying for the ROB for more than a decade as thousands of people need to cross the railway track daily. The railway department agreed to allocate Rs 15 crore for the construction of RoB while the R&B department came forward to provide Rs. 35 crore for the same.

As a preliminary calculation, about 26.5 metres width of land should be allocated for the bridge, including the passage, foot paths, drains and service roads on both sides. The municipality will try to see the loss is imited after a best design is given for the RoB.
