Low Earth Orbit satellites to play key role in communication
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) affiliated Master Control Facility Organisation Director S Parameshwaran said that in future, Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites would play a key role in the communication revolution. He was interacting with the students at Vignan University in Guntur district on Thursday.

He was interacting with the students at Vignan University in Guntur district on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that satellites moving over 2000 km in the height would be called as LEO satellites and added that earlier, “We had launched satellites which would move over 160 km to 200 km height in the space.”
He reminded them that they had launched satellites which would move over a height of 37,000 km in space, they are called geostationary satellites. These satellites are getting repairs because they are moving at long distance from the earth.
Replying to a query, he said that at present, the ISRO was launching LEO satellites as it was easy. Google also ready to launch this satellite into the space to get better results, he added. He said that those students having awareness in science and technology would have a bright future.
He clarified doubts on the space science vigilance satellites, nano-satellites, satellites launching system, working of satellites and uses in the communication technology raised by the students. He said that India is playing a key role in space technology.
Vignan University Vice-Chancellor MYS Prasad, Vignan Educational Institutions vice-chairman Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu and others were among those present.
