Madakasira: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy on Friday alleged that the State government was competing with others in corruption disregarding development.

Speaking after participating in the ‘Indiramma Rajyam Intintinti Sowbaghyam’ programme in Amarapuram mandal, he alleged that the ruling party leaders as members of the Janmabhoomi Committees were being encouraged to resort to corruption, rather than serving the needy people.

The APCC chief charged that demonic administration was ruling the State, while calling upon people to put an end to it by ushering ‘Indiramma Swarajyam’. He asserted that the party would continue to be in the forefront of ‘Praja Porubata’ programme until the TDP government fulfills its election promises of waiving farm and Dwcra loans.

Raghuveera pointed out that pensioners, and students seeking scholarships and farmers wanting to purchase groundnut seeds were facing hardships on account of the use of biometric system as they have to struggle with technology. He recalled that during the Congress regime eight varieties of seeds were distributed through shops, as against only rice now being released by the TDP government. This, he said, was regrettable.

The senior Congress leader claimed that a person had to sport yellow scarf to become eligible for availing of welfare schemes. He alleged that ‘yellow shirts’ were cornering the BC, SC and ST corporation loans.

He recalled that the government owed every unemployed person a dole of Rs 80,000, while demanding its immediate payment. Reddy stated that it was wrong for the ruling party to claim credit after the previous Congress government had diverted the Handri-Neeva water to Jidipalli.

The APCC chief advised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to refrain from making false promises for remaining in power. He asserted that the party would usher in ‘Indiramma Swarna Yugam’. Among those present were former MLA Sudhakar and party activists.
