BJP leaders burn actor’s effigy
Expressing anger over comments of actor Kamal Haasan over Hindu extremism, local BJP activists organised protest at Gandhi Statue on Friday by burning his effigy. They demanded immediate arrest of the actor for making objectionable comments.

BJP district secretary Midathala Ramesh said the senior actor has been making unnecessary sensational comments as part of launching his own party and the comments were only for media hype. BJYM leader M Srinivasa Reddy said the new party floated by the actor would not succeed as the people will refuse it.
The BJP leaders staged a protest at the statue and burnt effigy of Kamal Haasan. They demanded that actor should offer an unconditional apology by withdrawing his remarks, otherwise they warned that they would lodge complaints in all police stations across the state. Party leaders’ K Jaganmohan Rao and others were present.
