Visakhapatnam: The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Vizag Range, Ch Srikanth, called upon the people to strive to combat corruption in society.

Addressing the valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week observed by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Visakh Refinery here on Friday, Srikanth opined that the awareness programmes were not only for HPCL’s employees but also for the benefit of its stakeholders.

Executive Director of HPCL-VR GSVSSS Prasad Sarma briefed various initiatives taken up by the refinery, including online vendor registration, e-Procurement and bill tracking system, to strengthen the systems & procedures, promote honest practices, ensure transparency and eradicate corruption.

DGM-Vigilance of Visakh Refinery P Vijay Kumar explained various activities conducted during the week-long programmes, including competitions in essay writing, elocution, quiz and poster painting among employees and school children. Later, the DIG gave away the prizes to the winners of various competitions.

ASV Ramanan, Chief General Manager-Materials, Y Sriramulu, Chief General Manager, Narisetty Raja Rao, General Manager – HR and Raju, Assistant Commandant, were present.
