Tirupati: Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) IG Kantha Rao said task force Chaitanya Ratham has been creating awareness on red sanders anti-smuggling in public in the districts of Kurnool, Kadapa, Chittoor, Prakasam and Nellore.

RSASTF Chaitanya Ratham has completed the awareness campaign in 500 villages across five districts in the last two years. On this occasion, the IG interacted with some villagers at Task Force office on Friday.

The IG said that prevention of red sanders smuggling is possible by educating people. In this context, the RSASTF had started the awareness programme in remote villages. During this Chaitanya Ratham awareness programme, several public were educated by the Forest and Task Force police. “Our staff have visited 18 Assembly constituencies and met 10 lakh people through this awareness campaign,” said the IG.

Task Force team has been showcasing the anti-smuggling awareness short films, Kantha Rao said. FRO Ramakrishna Rao, PC Subramanyam of the Chaitanya Ratham team shared their experiences during awareness campaign. DSP Harinath Babu, CI Madhu, SI Ashok Kumar and more than 100 villagers were present.
