Former MLA of Palasa, Juttu Jagannayakulu, 57, died of illness in a private hospital atVisakhapatnam on Saturday. He wasnative of Bidimi village in Mandasa mandal. He did his MA Economics from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.

He contested as Congresscandidate from SompetaAssembly segment in 2004 with blessings of former chief minister YSRajasekhar Reddy but he was defeated Again, he contested as Congresscandidate from Palasa segment in 2009 after reorganisation of segments and won on TDP candidateGSS Sivaji. In 2014 elections, due to changed political scenario he wasdenied ticket. Since then he had been stayed away from active politicsbut continued as YSRCP leader. Two months ago, he suffered kidney related ailment and admitted in aprivate hospital at Visakhapatnam two days ago and died in the morningwhile being treated. All party leaders from districtexpressed grief over his death. His last rites will be performed on Sunday, said PalasaYSRCP leaders.
