Kartheeka Pournami celebrated with gaiety
The devotees from various places in Prakasam district celebrated Kartheeka Pournami with devotion and fun filled activities at the beaches and temples in the district.
Ongole: The devotees from various places in Prakasam district celebrated Kartheeka Pournami with devotion and fun filled activities at the beaches and temples in the district.
The devotees thronged the beaches of Kothapatnam, Chirala, Chinaganjam, Karedu, Alagayapalem and Pakala beaches in the early morning to take a holy dip in the sea. They performed puja and offered prayers to Lord Siva and Gauri.
The sand made Sivalingas were main attraction at the venues and the devotees offered puja to them.
On the other side, the Siva temples- Bhairavakona, 1001 Sivalinga temple at Jammulapalem near Tanguturu, Siddhi Bhairaveswara temple at Racharla, Sivalayam at Perala and Addanki witnessed thousands of devotees offering pujas. The Satyanarayana Sevasamiti in Ongole organised mass Satyanarayana vratams at Chennakesavaswami temple to mark Kartheeka Pournami. A large number of devotees thronged the Patala Nageswara Swamy temple in Giddalur to witness the miraculous Jalabhishekam from the cracks in stone above the deity.
