The programme was organised by the forest department. Srikakulam and Narasannapeta MLAs B Ramana Murthy, G Lakshmi Devi also planted saplings, along with the Zilla Parishad Chairperson. Speaking on the occasion, they said plants should cover 50 percent of the total area for healthy environment. Joint collector KVN Chakradhara Babu, divisional forest (territorial) officer (DFO) Ch Shanthi Swaroop and officials attended.
