Raptadu (Anantapur): Minister for Woman and Child Welfare Paritala Sunitha has asked officials and people to work towards achieving ‘open defecation-free’ in all the villages in Raptadu Assembly constituency by December end.

Formally launching the construction of individual latrines in the BC Colony at Raptadu village here on Saturday, Sunitha said that 28,000 latrines must be completed by the end of December.

She said that every family should come forward to pay Rs 240 as their share for the construction of individual latrine. She said that mandal level officers appointed to oversee the latrines should be completed at any cost. The Minister observed that every village should bag the Swachh Village award. She also called upon the people to be vigilant with regard to their health as dengue and malaria are rampant. She also distributed 2,209 mosquito
nets to the people in her constituency.
