Nellore receives heavy rainfall
Highlights
After a huge lull, several mandals in Nellore district received heavy rainfall on Monday. 11.2 cm rainfall recorded in Venkatagiri mandal due to upper air cyclonic circulation. Many coastal mandals, places close to Chennai and western parts of the district have been receiving heavy rains for the last couple of days.

Many coastal mandals, places close to Chennai and western parts of the district have been receiving heavy rains for the last couple of days.
Marripadu, Rapur, Tada and Pellakur mandals received 7.2 to 8.4 cm; Ozili, Balayapalli, Sydapuram, Dakkili, Atmakur, Nellore city, Kaligiri, DV Satram, and Kondapuram received 5.1 cm to 6.3 cm; and other mandals received 304 cm on an average rainfall. Nellore city received 4.7 cm only on Monday. According to official sources, Somasila reservoir is receiving water from upper catchment areas of Penna river.
