Two children drown in Swarnamukhi
Two children drowned in Swarnamukhi River on Sundaywhen they ventured into flood waters of the river at Naidupet. According to sources, 5 children from various parts of Naidupet town planned to swim in river as it wasSunday and for witnessing celebrations due to festivities at the river as part of ongoing Karthik month.
Nellore: Two children drowned in Swarnamukhi River on Sundaywhen they ventured into flood waters of the river at Naidupet. According to sources, 5 children from various parts of Naidupet town planned to swim in river as it wasSunday and for witnessing celebrations due to festivities at the river as part of ongoing Karthik month.
They went to river located backside of Tahsildar’s office and started swimming. But, due to huge inflows, three children failed to come outfrom water. Local fishermen rescued one child and two others-Mallewar, 7 and Jakeer, 6, of the town drowned in swirling waters. The local police recovered the bodies.
Tahsildar Mytreya, Circle Inspector Mallikarjuna, In-charge SI Venkata Ramana, ASI Sanakara Raju monitored the rescue operations. A pall of gloom descended on the habitations due to death of two children. Police registered a case.
